- Both pictures show movement, in each picture the subject is shown to be moving forward. You can tell this is happening by the movement of body parts in the man and the horse.
- The first shows motion by the movement of the horses legs and the part of the carriage that is shown in the image. More of it is shown as the horse and buggy move forward. The man moves by the lighter, more transparetn images behind him. As the image gets darker, it moves to more of the man in the "present".
- The purpose of each photograph is to display differnet ways to show motion in pictures. The image of the man emphasizes movement as the center because the man takes up most of the picture. He is the center of attention and the background is very small. As is the same with the horse and buggy
